How to get involved
Linux-To-Go and all the open source projects hosted here live from their contributors. But what can i do if i want to help or have ideas i want to discuss?
This article contains some very basic information about where to find the information to get involved with the hosted open source projects Linux-To-Go.
Projects
Usually the projects provide organisation data and some information about themselves on their GForge project site. You can access them through the projects portal or directly at http://projects.linuxtogo.org/projects/<project name>
You can find information about the project homepage, accessing the projects sources and releases as well as information about the mailinglists there. One of the mailinglists are usually used for the project communication and is the best choice choice to get in touch with the project members.
If you decide to join a project you should create an user account for GForge first. You can do this here: http://projects.linuxtogo.org/account/register.php There are no formal requirements to create an account and no approval is necessary.
Once you have an account you can log in and request to become member of a particular project. On the "Summary" page if the project you can find is a link to request to join a project.
Linux-To-Go
If you like you can work on LinuxToGo itself too. The idea of this platform is that it is organised in a similar way like open source projects. If you want to work on improving Linux-To-Go itself, have ideas / questions or just want to talk about it just send a mail to linuxtogo@linuxtogo.org.
You can catch some of us via IRC as well - we have a channel #linuxtogo on freenode.net.
If you want to contribute contents or news to the main website you need to contact us for an account. We disabled the account creation feature because most of the created accounts were used for spamming. The same applies if you want to add your blog feed to planet.linuxtogo.org.
